no sales = no job

Well....I just quit my job. I'll stay til the end of the week though I couldn't be arsed coming back in tomorrow, or especially Friday.
I had a chat to my team leader and it was essentially a case of "resign or you'll be fired" because I simply can't do sales. I wish I could, but what can you do? I'm waiting to hear back about other positions in Telstra with NO sales. I'm told there's even some available where there's no customer contact at all. I rock at customer service but I'm over it, so that would be a nice position indeed.
I'm both relieved and a little upset. In fact I'm shaking like a mofo right now, but I took it calmly and have been given permission to fuck around for as long as I need today. I'd like to just go home but I'll probably stay just because I'm lame like that.
This is definately a good thing though, because it means most of the stuff on my priority list is getting fixed up. My first singing lesson is next monday, I'm going to my first hip hop dance class this thursday and now I'll have a much better job to keep me from being an emotional ball of stress.
I bought the Klaxtons album yesterday and it is really good. It had three free guitar pics included. That rules.

Date: 14/3/07 07:28 (UTC)About ten minutes ago, I decided not to show up at the job I was supposed to start today.
Why? it's just too difficult a thing for someone with no experince at all (Well, apart from private teaching, but that doesn't really count).
I'm still trying hard not to think of myself as a sore loser even though I know it was perfectly okay to do this and there's probably plenty of other stuff to do in this city.
Anyway. Thanks. And I'm sure things will work out for you :)

My first ever job was as a Sales Rep for BT, but I quit after 3 months because I hated it. I was ok at the job and met targets when needed, and for my age the money was great, but I just really hated the damn thing. And here I am, almost 10 years later and still not in a steady job, but hey I could be worse :P
This is also an excuse to say "HIIIIIII!!!!!!!" since I've not been very vocal lately, just thought I'd let you know I was still around and been reading all of your posts on a regular basis.
And finally, here, have some bouncing boobies to cheer you up a little *points to his icon*.
Speak with you soon xxx

Date: 15/3/07 05:49 (UTC)I don't know what my near futue holds, job-wise. I'll try for another job within Telstra, with no sales involved. But there are tonnes of jobs around, especially for call centers, so I have a big range of options at the moment.

Date: 15/3/07 05:52 (UTC)Well I want to front a rock band at some point, so I mostly just need to train my voice. If I could get something like Gwen Stefani in her early No Dount days I'd be STOKED!
Oh, by the way, this'll mean I can't come visit and see RHCP in April. I'm really sorry :(

Date: 16/3/07 03:54 (UTC)I started taking funk lessons a coupla years ago in sherwood, but then had to stop going cos it was at 6pm and I never left work before then, wish I had've done more than like 2 lessons. It was heaps of fun! Fast paced, which I love. And I was soooooooooo bad at it! But that's what made it fun! because I can dance just fine with a partner, but am lost by myself.
