I need to do a weekend roundup, though I feel like I should comment upon the massacre in the USA. But in reality there's nothing much that I can say that probably hasn't already been said by hundreds and thousands of other people on LJ. I can't even comment on the gun culture in the USA and how out-of-hand it has become, to the point where these massacres are becoming common-place, because it's so obvious. If only something was done, but it's America and that's just how the nation works, as badly as it may be.

OK! Weekend roundup!

Friday was excellent. It was Breaks & Enter's BLACK FRIDAY, so Iyan and I were in charge of the decorating of GPO. We expected it to take maybe an hour, but three hours later we'd not done nearly as much as we'd hoped. Oh well, spiderwebs covered the windows, skull streamers, red and black balloons and toy bats covered everything we could reach, so we did a decent job.

I dressed as a zombie pirate, obviously. I only had about half an hour to get ready so I'm pleased with how my self-done makeup turned out pretty well. All of the ADICTS, the girls and other friends made so much effort to dress up, and so did a number of strangers, which was fantastic to see. Angie (aka Angefied) displayed her costumes hse'd made for Zen Zen Zo's new performance next month (they're a well-known Brisbane theatre troupe), which was phenomenal to watch!

Anyway, have some photos:

Yes, Anthony and Iyan randomly decided to dress as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum! REALLY HORROR THEMED, GUYS!

HELLO THERE! Ok so my makeup looks pretty shit up close :S

Ahhh, that's better!

Alright, so Sang's mummy costume looked much better when I originally helped him do it >:(

The vampire girls, costume by Angie.

I forget what these girks were, but their costumes were amazing.

Anthony and Chris may have been drunk by this point.

Me, Sara and Chris. This is SO going to get myspaced!

And then Sadaam Hussein turned up with hot cop chicks!

More of the performers getting into it.

And then there was Friendly (the headline act) who couldn't get a picture without Anthony in the background somewhere)!

I got severely wasted on way too much...of everything really. But it was an aweosme night, so much to see and do and dance to. I only wish all their nights were this excellent! The rest of the pics can be found HERE!

Saturday was Supanova, the "pop culture expo" which Daz and I re-dubbed the "Loser-palooza". I went with Anthony and mum and we had a ball. Anthony likes to pretend he's all cool and not a nerd, but then he recognised a Cobra Commander t-shirt and it all went ddownhill from there (for those wondering, as I was, that's from G.I. Joe). Mum wigged out when she saw Billy Dee Williams, but was too shy to say much when he signed a picture for her. Anthony bought dozens of Batman, Storm, Transformers, G.I. Joe comics, as well as some really hilarious, random DVDs. he also nearly bought a $100 replica helmet from 300 but it got sold. As for me I got the first Sin City comic, Bettie Page DVDs, a replica welcome to Hogwarts letter to Harry Potter (ONLY FIVE DOLLARS), a replica necklace of the gold coin from Pirates of the Carribean, Max Brookes' guide to surviving a zombie attack and I somehow managed to get my mum a photo of the cast from "Lost in Space" for nothing from a stall owner who fancied me (it was marked as $55). I was quite amaused at how I saw so many people I knew there, whereas it's usually Anthony who knows everyone, though that's usually in less geeky environments, haha.

Byt eh way [livejournal.com profile] _snitchbitch your costume was great, especially when I saw a episode playing ith Starbuck, then a big, fat, bald dude dressed the same later on! I wish I'd taken photos, I actually think I was still half wasted from the night before and simply wasn't thinking!

Sunday was lazy, in fact I slept all day as I had a bloody awful migraine. Damn periods combined with drinking and partying >:(

I started gym this week at Pure Health Club in the City. I got such a good vibe from them there, and there are some great sounding classes to do (plus it's woman-focused so few men go and it's not a meat-market at all, something I was worried about). Here's to getting in shape and losing the excess flab! WHOO!

What are these things? I can really imagine what's behind these classes. Care to explain (once you find out)?

What classes are you planning on going to?

Zombie pirate! a-hahaha, awesome. Looks like everyone went all out for their costumes. I'm used to crappy d-i-y outfits at dress up things. Mummy boy looks very cute too!
