Weekend roundup & Break and Enter 2

I had a rather interesting weekend to say the least. I know I always say they're interesting but holy crap, this one had some fairly shocking moments. I didn't do much Friday night, as I had to help Anthony move the next morning. That was "fun", getting hot and sweaty because I was stupid enough to wear black jeans. That evening I went and finally caught up with VERITY! We had dinner at jackpot Noodles, exchanged presnets (you outdid me by far, I'll have to make it up to you!!!) and sat around talking at Warwick's place. It was really good to catch up, we so need to do it a lot more often. After that I went back into the Valley to meet up with the boys who had a DJing gig before we headed back to Anthony's (where Tate and Chris decided to smash up some signs and get into trouble). We then headed to the Met (big surprise) where pretty much everyone and Brisbane also decided to do. It was packed, but looking good as they'd had some renovations. I daresay I would have danced off a few kg's that night.

Anyway, that's nothing new or exciting, it's what happened afterwards that got interesting. A bunch of us left the club at 5am and headed back to Ant's to chill out. All of a suddent he realises Chris has his keys, and Chris had gone home earlier in the night. So everyone piles into his and my car and we head to Coorpooroo, only to find ourselves caught in a RBT (Random Breath Test) trap. Cue the panicking. There was nothing else to do but have our breath tested. And of course both of us are over the legal limit. I was so shocked and appalled at myself for being so dumb, and mad at Anthiny for making me drive at 6 in the morning after ahuge night out. But luck was on my side. The policeman who had pulled me over was really lovely and as I really hadn't been drinking much all night, I really was as good as sober, which he could plainly see. So we chatted for ages, while everyone had their secondary tests done. I would have been there an hour, Anthony had had his 2nd test long ago and had his forms for his court appearance next month in hand. Then, when there was no one else to test, it was my turn. And what dya know? I pass brilloiantly, my blood-alcohol level is way under and I'm let off.

It was a terrifying hour, but I had some great conversations with the policeman who was queestioning me and I guess he knew I was barely over the limit in the first place and was more than capable of driving. I couldn't thank them all enough and holy crap have I learnt my lesson! I've stopped drining so much now, because I've been getting so many migraines, and for the whole diet thing, but now I'm going to be so much more careful!

We eventually got the keys from Chris (Ant's friend Flip drove his car, and although sober he was the WORST driver ever, chucking U-yurns on one-way streets, going through red lights etc) and all got home after 7am where we slept all morning and until the afternoon when I remembered out Holly & Phoenix meeting! I rushed in and caught up with Kim, Sarah and Diz which was nice. I only hope more people will decide to join us next month!!! Afterwards I got mild food poisoning from a tasty mushroom pasta dinner and ended up staying at Anthony's another night. Sometimes I think I should probably just move into his new place with him, but then I remember how cheap and cruisy it is living with my mum! Mwahahaha!

Now for some shameless plugging. For those who I see on a regular basis, you'll probably know I'm now the "official" photographer for ADICTS. Apart from that they're friends of mine and we all know it's good to suppirt the local music scene. SO! ANYONE IN BRISBANE ON FRIDAY 9TH FEBRUARY, PLEASE COME SUPPORT THEM AT BARZUKA! It's their 2nd "Breaks and Enter" club night, which we want to become a regular event, so they need as much support as possible. It doesn't matter if you love or hate breaks music (or house in R'Daza's case), come for a bit, say hi, let me take your photos there and show the boys some support!

And just because I took half of the photos on this poster:

Oh and guess who's working at the Good Vibrations festival this Sunday? THAT'D BE ME! Bring on the Snoop Dog and Beastie Boys action, baby!
